Resume & Profile

With a degree in international business and politics, Shalini was all set to join the United Nations but got completely distracted with the millennial dotcom explosion. She started her career working in the business communications (marketing, sales and brand-building) space for several start-ups and multinationals before jumping into the digital learning industry in 2004.

A philosopher-poet and neat street (animal and waste management) activist on the weekends—Shalini was able to easily migrate her diverse verbal and written communication skills, leadership initiatives, and cross-industry resourcefulness to her career in the eLearning industry. She essayed various roles as instructional designer, team/department lead, project coordinator, lead reviewer, and is now a recognized visualization expert and story-based learning specialist. Shalini has created her proprietary methodology called the VELD Technique, which is a great training tool for learning/instructional designers.

The fun doesn’t stop there!

As of 2015, Shalini is a certified Life Transition Coach and is multitasking with several corporations, businesses and individuals to help them accept and achieve their unique goals. She is also blending coaching sensibilities into her learning design templates for increased cognitive absorption and behavioural change.

A crossbred hippie with an intellectual appetite and stamina for tremendous social upheaval, Shalini is actively building several community campaigns to counter racist and prejudicial ideologies. A busy day is all it takes to keep her motivated! She currently lives in Pune, India with her husband, son and cats.
